The Affirmation Station can be used on both sides, with six nouns, three present-tense verbs, and ten adjectives!
There are opportunities for partner and group play.
The Station can be placed outside the playground to provide a safe, accessible space for users to create their affirmation without being on the playground.
The Affirmation Station can be placed within the playset, as the Tic-Tac-Toe boards are with a much smaller and simpler frame that is attached to the existing playground poles.
The Otter Play structure has six main pieces with endless ways to play.
Users can ascend the center mound belly, climb the otter paw monkey bars, jump between the various surfaces, bounce in the bungee foot seats, or just lounge!
There are various ways for people in mobility devices to transfer onto the main otter belly.
All surfaces are covered in various shades of brown turf for safe climbing and dismounts.
Overall, this play experience is exciting and creative while appreciating how cute otters are.
More playground play!
After graduation, the playground company kept me on as a Design Engineering Intern. In this role, I was able to keep designing fun while also researching new machinery. This role allowed me to work all parts of my brain while also working alongside professionals.
Meet the Starbend 1500
This new machinery and I became familiar very quickly. The machinery was getting brought in 6 months after I began my research, and I was tasked with understanding its capabilities as well as presenting this research to engineers and designers to understand what their constraints are. While I was collecting my information and creating a guidebook to the bender, I was also able to play with some of its capabilities myself, hence the next section!
